Is Baking Chicken Breast In The Oven In A Roasting Bag The Secret To Having Oven Baked Chicken Breasts For Dinner On A Workday?
Have you ever felt that everyday food has a tendency to get boring after a while? I have!
On any given workday I’ll get up at 5.20 AM. I’ll get breakfast ready and prepare everybody’s lunch boxes. Then it will be time to get the kids dressed and ready for kindergarten (the big boy will be starting school next summer). After driving the kids to kindergarten it’s time to go to work. As much as I love my job after 8-9 hours (if we’re not approaching a deadline) energy levels will be pretty much depleted. Thankfully, my wife will pick up the kids, but when I get home there’s still dinner to prepare. More often than not there is neither time or energy to create a great culinary experience. Home Made Rye Bread Pastrami Sandwich – A Solution To The Home Made Lunch Phobia?
Home made lunch is usually healthier and cheaper than the cafeteria or diner has to offer. It is also usually really, really boring. The key to a healthy lunch is to get one that includes lots of fibers. Something that gives you a full tank for at least a couple of hours. That means either a salad or wholemeal bread. CAUTION: Making Candy Apples Can Be Hazardous To Your Health!
Few things say Christmas quite like candy apples with coconut flour, but if it’s your first attempt at making them a word of caution is in order. This weekend I made candy apples for the first time and I have the burned thumb to prove it!
I’m always super excited when trying out new recipes. I realize that on my first attempt results can be a bit questionable, but I’ve learnt not to let that deter me. This time I decided to try to make candy apples. Christmas is around the corner and candy apples are just perfect for that occasion. One of thrills of trying a new recipe is that you don’t quite know what the most challenging aspect will be. Continue reading

When Life Gives You Sugar…Ask For Lemons
I like my refreshments. I really do.
I won’t say that I drink soda daily, but still it’s more often than I should. The problem is that there is nothing like a nice cold coke from the fridge to clear the mind. I love it! Continue reading
Why Can’t We Give Salad That One More Chance?
If you have raised a child you know how hard it is to give them good eating habits. Getting a child to eat salad is much like squeezing an elephant through a keyhole. A whole lot of pushing and encouraging and very little success.
It’s usually our own fault though. I’ll admit I haven’t been eating as many vegetables as I should. Kids will eat what they watch their parents eat. The problem with a salad is that it often adds to the time it takes to prepare dinner. In a busy schedule it is the first thing that goes out the window. Continue reading
Double Dip Or Homemade Dip?
I had fries. I had mayo. I had no sizzle.
I could have gone to the grocery store to get dip with the sizzle on it. A bottle of dip with the sizzle usually comes at a premium cost. That’s where the double dip comes in. In fact, that’s also where the homemade dip comes in. A little later though. Continue reading

Swedish Sausages A Danish Specialty!
There are some meals from your childhood you will always cherish. Swedish sausages definitely isn’t haute cuisine, but boy does it taste good. Frankly, this is a dish I grow fonder of everytime I eat it. If you’re looking for a healthy dish this isn’t it (although it isn’t exactly a heart attack waiting to happen either). Continue reading
